Did you ever play it co-op? One of the reasons I stalled on actually playing it was so many reviews insisting it was designed for co-op and the AI wasn't good enough to assist you, but I don't really do a lot of co-op anyway.
I did play a bit of co-op a while back, and it's okay, although tbqh I am not a fan of multiplayer generally, and found many of the players I matched with significantly dumber than 2016 AI. I found the bots in the campaign perfectly acceptable, occasionally they get stuck but it's nothing unusual even today.
Awesome work here, and perhaps the most edifying review this game ever had. Deathwing is very much flawed, but it's packed to the brim with interesting ideas and is still one of the most atmospheric shooters ever released. I might not recommend it to a casual FPS fan, but this is a required experience for any 40K obsessive and would probably be a welcome breath of fresh air to any gamer who's grown weary of the Doom franchise's extensive narrativization of late.
Thanks for the shout-out, by the way! Streum On has always privileged themes and ideas over traditional storytelling and has never gotten much credit when it works out. Incidentally, this review made me urgently want to replay E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy, and I might just have to boot up Deathwing afterwards.
Fiiiiine, I'll finally download Deathwing.
